Our History...

Mid-Western Research & Supply, Inc. was founded in 1986 when Don Walton decided to start his own business as a distributor for SPECO INC. and other companies. Don had been working for a meat processor as a purchaser when he realized there was a need for on site expertise, especially in the grinding phase. He soon left the processor he was working for, and that was the beginning of Mid-Western. In 1996 he had the opportunity to expand his line of supplies and equipment. Don and his son Brett purchased Holly Harned’s. The Walton family now operates the company with an emphasis on supplying the needs of the independent meat processors. They are a service oriented, family owned and operated business. Donald (Don) Walton recently retired as CEO, and worked in the industry for over 20 years. His son, Brett, has been in the industry for over 13 years and serves as the current CEO/President. Several members of the Walton family have been with the company and continue to work together. Don’s daughter, Stephanie, has been with the company for more than 14 years and is the Office Manager. Brett’s wife, Sandy, is the Creative Director and has been with the company for eight years. Their son, Austin, joined the company during his high school years and is currently the IT Manager. Mid-Western is a longtime member of more than 10 state associations as well as AAMP (American Association of Meat Processors). As our business continues to grow, so does our wonderful staff. We currently have over 20,000 square feet of warehouse space full of items ready for same day shipment. We have been blessed with a courteous and knowledgeable staff that enjoys serving you.
